Blandon Lamond Ferguson was born to Liddell Ferguson and Jesse Merrill Ferguson, in Speegleville, Texas on December 8th, 1930. He passed away peacefully at home on May 20, 2022, at the age of 91 to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Blandon was a laid back but ambitious man. Blandon spent his days as a young man in and around Waco,Texas. Blandon enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1950 at the beginning of the Korean War. From Basic Training in San Antonio, Texas he went to Tech School at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. He went to Tech School to learn about Teletype and Crypto Equipment. He earned a 4.0 average in his training and upon graduating received a stripe for being the top of his class. During the early part of his 27 year Air Force career, Blandon met his wife Helen, in Manchester, England, while he was stationed at Burtonwood in Great Britain. Helen was born in Birmingham, England and raised in Manchester, England but was of Scottish descent. They met in Manchester in June of 1951 and were married in January of 1953. Blandon and Helen moved around quite a bit due to his postings around the world.
Blandon's life moving around got bigger due to the places they went as well as the children that they had together. They lived in Texas, Florida, England, Japan, Germany and Missouri before settling with their four children in San Antonio to be nearer to both of their families as some of his wife's family had also moved to San Antonio, Texas. After retiring from the military as a Chief Master Sergeant, Blandon visited friends and family around the United States and even made a trip to Australia and further trips back to England and Scotland. Along with Helen, Blandon also enjoyed playing host to friends and family from around the world.Blandon was a quiet man, but you knew his heart, and that he loved the Lord, by his actions. He loved hisfamily, always was willing to give a helping hand, and had that unconditional love for people he did anddidn't know alike.
Blandon and Helen lived a very peaceful and loving life together for 63 1/2 years. He was very happy to keep occupied around the house and his shed with projects over the years and loved seeing the kids as they grew. Blandon was definitely at his happiest when it was just the two of them together.
Blandon was preceded in death by his wife Helen Elizabeth Ferguson, both his father and mother, and his brother, Bill Ferguson. He is survived by his sister Laquita Ferguson Nelson and her husband Dale Nelson, his four children and their spouses, Kerry Randall Ferguson and his wife Sheri Davis Ferguson; David Lamond Ferguson and his wife Jacqueline Manwaring Ferguson; Donna Aileen Ferguson Baker and her husband Ron Baker; Craig Henry Ferguson and his husband Todd Lavoie; his nine grandchildren; his great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, their children, friends and family around the world.
