It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Brian. He was 27 years old – far too soon to leave us. The impact he made on the lives of those who knew him will always be with us.
Brian was born in San Antonio, Texas, and immediately became a bright spot in the lives of his parents, Dan and Eileen. He was a ray of sunshine from the very beginning with his big, blue eyes. His parents loved watching him grow to become a studious young man. They were especially proud of Brian when he graduated from UTSA at just 20 years of age.
Brian and his big brother, Danny, were best friends from the start. They played together and had all kinds of adventures together no matter what they were doing. They loved almost anything with wheels – bicycles, golf carts, motorcycles, and ATVs, which all played important parts in their childhood. They also shared their playtime with numerous dogs, cats, bunnies, and other pets. Brian and Danny joked and laughed together, and they bonded together as brothers and friends. They were there for each other and that bond continued into adulthood.
In his brief time with us, Brian lived life to the fullest, flying off and exploring the world with friends and family. Brian would travel to Mexico or Europe to spend time with those he loved. Traveling was a great pleasure for him and if asked, he would drop everything and go. But no matter how far Brian went, Texas, and especially Austin was where his heart stayed. He made some deep and wonderful friendships there.
When we think of Brian, let’s remember to appreciate each other and to be patient with each other. Although our hearts are saddened at Brian’s death, we are grateful that God granted us 27 years with him. We will carry a piece of him in our hearts forever. When we think of Brian, we will remember the love and laughter that he brought to our lives.
Brian, we will miss you, but we will celebrate your memory. Rest in peace and know that you will always be part of our lives. We love you and will never forget you. You are now free.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Dan Humbert, and is survived by his mother, Eileen Humbert and brother, Daniel Joseph Humbert.
Please wear any color you like. When we think of Brian we think of bright colors.
