Brigida Trenta Hernandez

With deep sorrow and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Brigida Trenta Hernandez, who departed this life on April 26, 2025, at the age of 48. Born on July 30, 1976, in San Antonio, Texas, to Carmelita P. and James Jasper Gregory, Brigida was a beloved daughter, sister, tía, and friend. Her life was marked by compassion, quiet strength, and unconditional love for her family and community.

Brigida was a devoted caregiver, helping to raise several of her cousins’ children with a mother’s love and unwavering patience. Her nurturing spirit, steady presence, and ability to make others feel safe and cherished left a lasting mark on everyone she touched.

She is now reunited in eternal peace with her father, James Jasper Gregory; her tío, Robert Hernandez; her grandfather, Brigido Hernandez Sr.; her grandmother, Josie Le Gregory; her grandfather; Elmer Trent Gregory and other beloved family who passed before her.

Brigida’s memory will forever live in the hearts of her beloved mother, Carmelita P. Gregory; her sister, Yojani F. Hernandez; her brothers, Jesse James Gregory and Joshua J.M. Gregory; her nephews, Lil Man Joshua James Gregory, Chunky Monkey Jericho Martin Robert Gregory, and Jesus Angel Aguirre; and her nieces, A. Amaris Gregory and Marianna Guerra. She is also deeply missed by her grandmother, Dominga Puentes Hernandez; her tía, Aurora Rocha (Anna Marie Neilsen); her tíos, Juan G. Hernandez (Sylvia Z. Hernandez) and Brigido Hernandez Jr. (Mary E. Hernandez); her sister-in law; Juanita Longoria Gregory and her many cousins: Rina Linares, Savannah Nicole Rodriguez, Ray “Cujo” Rocha, Michelle O’Shaughnessy, Rene Rocha, Issac Hernandez, Ronnie C. Rocha, Billow Hernandez, Roy Rocha, and Matthew Hernandez, Evangelina (Nina) Hernandez, John Gabriel Hernandez, Christopher Z. Hernandez and Crystal Z. Hernandez, she also leaves behind her best friend; Connie Alfaro, who will miss her deeply.

Brigida’s kindness, strength, and boundless love will also be remembered by numerous friends who were blessed to know her. Her legacy lives on in the lives she nurtured and the hearts she uplifted.

A Visitation will be held for Brigida on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM the following morning at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, Texas 78237. A Celebration of Life will take place that evening at 7:00 PM.

A Chapel Service will be held on Friday, May 9th, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the same location. Following the chapel service, a processional will depart for San Fernando Cemetery #2, 746 Castroville Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, where Brigida will be laid to rest.
