Britton Beckerman was born to Cathleen Heshmat and Joseph Beckerman on April 12, 1994. Britton was an incredibly loving and caring child dubbed "my lover" by his mother, who Idolized his older brother Blake and adored his baby sister Peyton. There are few words that can sum up Britton's charisma. His infectious smile and contagious laughter would fill a room instantly. He didn't have but one enemy, himself. With this came a masked struggle with addiction and being gay. Few knew how deeply it truly ran. Britton struggled with addiction for more than half his life. The past few years he dedicated his life to turning his struggle around and helping those around him not just to survive but to thrive. His attempts to assist those struggling will not end but will be carried on from this day forward in his honor through the Britton Beckerman memorial fund. His smile and laughter carry on but his fight with the demons has ended.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marian Stanczyk. Britton is survived by his mother, Cathy Heshmat and husband Mahyar; father, Joe Beckerman and fiancée Sherri Potter; maternal grandparents, Tom and Linda Dickerson; siblings, Blake (Claudia Oliva) and Peyton; grandfather, Raymond Stanczyk; niece, Mason Beckerman and nephew, Jr. Prew.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
