

Bruce Jackson Burdette, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on January 3, 2016 at the age of 83. Bruce was married to his high school sweetheart, Barbara Milian Burdette for 65 years.
Bruce was born on April 29, 1932 in Tampa, Florida. He was a member of the Hillsborough Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He was elected president of the Watchmakers Association of the state of Florida in 1962.
Bruce was a watchmaker by trade as a young man and opened Burdette Jewelers in Tampa, Florida in 1950 until it closed in the early 1980's. Beginning in 1962, Bruce entered the wholesale jewelry business where he worked for several wholesale jewelry companies for over 30 years.
Bruce served as a partner in the Seiko Watch distributorship of San Antonio during the 1970's.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Barbara Milian Burdette; daughter, Brenda Burdette Watson; son, Bruce Burdette, Jr. and daughter, Barbara Burdette Hinton and husband, Mark Hinton; grandchildren, Scott Watson, Jr., Aimee Montgomery, Garrett Myer, Brittney Burdette, Alyssa Myer, Jessica Watson, Colby Burdette and Brandy Burdette; great-grandchildren, Avery Montgomery, Audrey Montgomery, Ashton Montgomery and Adrian Rutledge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Hazel Burdette as well as his son-in-law, Scott Watson.
