Bruce Vaughn Gavrilov, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 in San Antonio, TX. Born on August 2, 1950 in Southgate, MI to Josephine and Steve Gavrilov, Bruce graduated from Schafer High School in 1968 and from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelors of Journalism in 1972. Bruce served briefly in the Navy before earning a commission in the Army via Officer Candidate School, serving for over 10 years as an Ordnance Officer. Bruce ultimately retired from the Customs and Border Protection Service in 2013 with over 30 years of active federal service. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Greg Gavrilov, and is survived by his sons, Josh and James Gavrilov; brother, Lou Gavrilov; and grandson, Michael Christian Gavrilov. The family will receive friends from 3pm to 4pm, on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
