Carl James Luther, Jr., age 76, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on April 1, 1947 in Hamlet, North Carolina to Mable Mildred Teal and Carl James Luther. As a young man, Carl enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country proudly for 4 years. In San Antonio he spent 26 years with HEB Grocery, retiring as Industrial Facility Services Director in 2016. He was a jack of all trades but an engineer at heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandra; and daughter, Shawna Lee. Carl is survived by his wife, Donna Luther; children, Christiana Hejl (Jim), Carl James Luther III (Anita) and Corey Alvin Luther; brother, Jackie Lee Luther; sister-in-law Donna; grandchildren, Caitlyn Shawna (KoLee), Tristan Corey, James Bernard II (Debra Bernal), Charles Jamison, Jacob Wyatt; great-granchildren, Lillian Rae, James Bernard III, Piper, Greyson and Presley.
