Carmen N. Bruno (Yiyi), age 72, went to be with the Lord on June 3, 2019 in San Antonio, TX. She was born on April 1, 1947 in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico to Jose Bruno-Batista Sr. & Carmen R. Bruno. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend to all who knew her and she will be dearly missed. She always had a smile on her face and giving spirit. During her younger years, she loved to crochet, always kept her dad’s military uniforms prepped for him to wear and loved to boss her siblings around. Later in life, she enjoyed bingo, crafts, and holidays with the family and attending Catholic mass at her nursing home.
Carmen (Yiyi) is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Carmen, brother, Robert and sister, Maria.
She is survived by her brother, Jose E. Bruno, Jr. and wife Noemi; sister, Lucila Rivera and husband Jose; sister, Awilda Bruno; brother, Edwin Bruno and wife Linda; sister, Ivette Bruno. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends.
Carmen’s family would like to thank the staff at Mystic Park Nursing and Rehab Center for their care and love for Carmen the past 4 years. They would also like to thank the ICU Doctors, Nurses, Nursing Assistants, Respiratory Therapists, and Palliative Care Team at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital for their amazing care during Carmen’s illness.
