Carol Jean Moore

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Jean Moore on April 4, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. Carol was born on July 11, 1944 in Hallettsville, Texas to Helen Koehler and Eital W. Schornack. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Carol is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Charles Robert Moore; son, Robert Moore and wife Kimberly, grandchildren, Syerra Moore, great grandchildren Allysun and Logan; Cheyenne Shoemaker and husband Joseph, and great grandsons, Joseph jr, and Charles; Cathy Quarles and husband Michael and grandchildren, Connor and Lindsay Quarrels; as well as her cousins, Jim and William Koehler.

Carol had a passion for life that was infectious to all around her. She had an uncanny ability to light up a room with her presence and quirky sense of humor. Her kind spirit and warm heart were unmatched – no matter the situation she was always there with a listening ear or comforting hug for those who needed it most. She was a calming presence no matter the situation. A rock of serenity and grace for those around her. She loved to read, either for self indulgence or to read to or spend time playing, reading or spinning yarns of tales for her grandchildren.

Through her love of cooking and teaching she was able to shape the minds of young adults. To inspire them to go out into the world and make a difference. Improving the culinary and hospitality industries.

Her love of German Shepherds gave her the ability to improve the Breed as a whole by strict breeding standards. She and Bob were both rewarded immensely by this by producing top champions that are still the earmarks that future Shepherds are compared to.

In her later years she was an inspiration to her husband Bob to build one of the top RV parks in Port Aransas, TX. Her reputation as a hospitality guru inspired many, many winter Texans to move to or come to the RV park for many repeat seasons.

She was able to touch so many people’s lives around the world and will be truly missed by all of them.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 beginning at 2:00 PM. This service will be streamed online for those who cannot attend in person. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to any charity of your choice in Carol's name – she would have been honored by it.

Though we mourn the loss of our beloved Carol Jean Moore we can take solace knowing she is now reunited with her beloved family members that passed before her – happy and healthy once again in eternal peace.
