

Teddy Peterson was born October 2, 1934 to Robert G. McGee and Florence (Ryan) McGee in Waxahachie, Texas. She married Tom Peterson on September 17, 1955 and was happily married to him for nearly 57 years. Teddy fought valiantly against several long-term illnesses but went home to be with the Lord on July 18, 2012. Teddy was a loving wife and mother who was a very active participant in the Episcopal church and in the Republican Party. She will be greatly missed by her husband Tom, three children, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild along with her extended family and many friends.
Teddy served with Tom as a Sponsor of the Episcopal Young Churchmen at several Episcopal churches across Texas, including St. John's Episcopal Church, Marlin, Texas, Christ Episcopal Church, El Paso, Texas and St. Luke's Episcopal Church in San Antonio. She has served in several guilds and in a variety of other ways at St. Luke's and later at St. Francis Episcopal Church in San Antonio where she and Tom worshipped for the last 28 years.
Teddy served as Staff Assistant to Congressman Tom Loeffler in the San Antonio Federal Office for nearly 8 years. She served in a variety of offices including as president of both the Alamo City Republican Women's Club in San Antonio and later the Bexar County Republican Women . In 1993, Teddy was named one of the Ten Outstanding Republican Women by the Texas Federation of Republican Women.
Through the years Teddy also served as Den Mother, Brownie Leader, Girl Scout Leader, room mother, band parent , dance squad parent and was active in the PTA. She helped raise funds for Easter Seals, Cystic Fibrosis, Diabetes Association, Ameridan Lung Association Mothers' March of Dimes and Arthritis Foundation. In what little spare time remained from her other activities, Teddy loved needlework, deep-sea fishing and traveling.
