Carol received her Bachelor of Science degree from Sul Ross College in 1959. She taught Junior High and High School from 1959 until 1988. Over the course of her teaching career, she taught U.S. and American History, along with English. Jean enjoyed travel, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Sarah Terry; husband, Robert Tipton; daughter, Suzanne Burns; granddaughter, Tracie Denise Schultz and brother, Thomas Robert Terry.
She is survived by her son Thomas Schultz (Gretchen); daughters, Melanie Knight (Edwin), Diane Dammann (Mike); grandsons, Christopher Grahlmann; Timothy Schultz, Damon Fortenberry, Jake Knight and Alex Dammann; granddaughter Tamara O’Neill and eight great grandchildren.
She leaves behind many wonderful friends and former students who will remember her fondly.
