Carolyn Sue Borel Winter (Carol) went peacefully to rest on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the age of 67. Carol was born on November 1, 1947 to Maywood Marguite Ransonet and Paul Emile Borel in Port Arthur, Texas. She moved to Houston as a child and her childhood was filled with fond memories of her father's bakery with her sister Joan.
A beautiful and creative soul, she married John W. Winter, Jr. on September 16, 1978 and spent 37 wonderful years as his devoted wife, travel companion, and willing audience to their shared sense of humor. For many years, she ran a successful shop, The Collection, where her art, handcrafts and artful eye were admired by many. She loved to express her creativity in painting and home décor. She was a loving mother whose unselfish nature was an inspiration to her family. Most of all, she adored her three grandsons and treasured spending time with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband John W. Winter, Jr.; son, David Russo (Mary Heather); step-sons, West Winter (Tracy) and John Winter III; three grandsons, Campbell Russo, West Winter, Jr., and Richard Winter; sister Joan Borel, and sister-in-law, Winifred Winter Cocke (Bartlett).
