

She graduated from Thomas Alva Edison High School where she achieved and became proficient in academics and sports. Catherine took part in soccer and was the Student Council Artist.
She went on to The College of the Incarnate Word, now known as the University of the Incarnate Word, while working at H.E.B. grocer as a bookkeeper, juggling both school and work, she earned her Bachelor's degree in Political Science. Upon graduation she attained a position with various agencies who assisted the City of San Antonio one of which was a major drainage project which resulted in the drainage for Downtown San Antonio. She also worked as project manager at Capital Excavation.
Catherine was known to her nieces and nephews as Aunt Katie and there was never a dull moment when she was around, she believed in living her life to the fullest. Shenanigans followed her wherever she traveled along with her zest for music.
Some of Catherine's favorite artists were Heart, Janis Joplin, Lady Gaga, Fleetwood Mac, Avril Levine and many others. Music was her love and passion and she was self taught on various guitars acoustic and electric. She also played the trumpet in her High School Band.
Catherine loved to paint and shared many of her paintings with friends and family using the style of famous artist Frieda, who she had a great admiration for.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alfonso and Eloisa Minjares and Enrique and Eloisa Parilla.
Catherine is survived by her loving parents, Alfred and Esther Elizondo; siblings, Alfred Elizondo III, Theresa Elizondo-Orr, Patricia Varela and Edward Elizondo; her nieces, Valeria Garcia, Victoria Braun, Elizabeth and Denise Orr, Emily, Erica and Elina Elizondo; nephews, Michael Elizondo, Lawrence Schaffer, Raynard and Ryan Ramoz; great-nieces, Jocelyn Garcia, Olivia, Gabriella, Aubury Elizondo; great-nephews, Joshua Garcia, Jason Sapp, Cody and Braidon Braun, Anthony Lawrence Schaffer, Marcus William Reid Aleman, great-aunts, Angelina Ramirez and Eudelia Montalvo.
Her spirit was greater than life itself and knowing this she will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 31, 2013 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough Ave.
