Mr. V you were a credit to your profession and a friend to all. Many of my family and friends were fortunate enough to have you as their teacher. My sister in '64, my brother in '66, myself in '74, and the list goes on with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. We will always remember you and have nothing but good things to say about you. I have so many fond memories of Mr. Vee...as my tennis coach for 4 years, colleague for 32, and always a friend. He was a consummate educator full of self-sacrifice and such love for his students. There will never be another quite like him. His was a gentle spirit blessed by God. To his family may you feel the love from all who knew him and may all our memories and your own give you comfort as you grieve. Rest in peace my friend and may you enjoy a round of tennis with the angels. I'll miss you.

These many notes are a tribute to a life dedicated to others. Mr V was a truly devoted teacher, coach, mentor, colleague, friend. I was lucky enough to spend the first 10 years of my education career at East Central HS and Mr V was one of the first to welcome me; giving me guidance, constant support and encouragement. Also a few jokes and laughs along the way! He was the most positive and upbeat person and one could not help but be affected by his daily enthusiasm and love for his job and the students! RIP dear Friend.

Oye, Oye...We have just lost a very influential gentleman. I was fortunate to have him teach me in the class of '78. And my daughter Rachel in the class of '98. He will be greatly missed and we will keep his family in our prayers. Class of '78.

Oye, Oye, Oye! We lost one of the great ones on Thursday. Mr. Vee was a great man and a credit to education, he left some big shoes to fill and a big hole in our lives. I am proud to have known him and worked with him. I'll miss you Mr. Vee and will see you again someday in Heaven.

Oye Mr. V! What can we say about a truly great & wonderful man and teacher, besides you made those most awkward high school years easier, even if it was for only an hour a day. You made learning fun & you HAD the respect of ALL that knew & met you. I am just sorry that my kids will never know the pleasure of having the legendary Mr. V for Government class. Mr. V. was truly a master of his craft. His high energy, quick wit, and good humor made going to economics class fun. He was also our senior class sponsor a responsibility that he did not take lightly. His dedication to teaching and excellence has made him an East Central icon. I have many fond memories of Mr. Vs class and will always cherish the man as a person, teacher and friend. Mr. V was at East Central so long he would jokingly tell his students that he laid the first brick. I remember how he brought economics alive and kept us engaged by keeping the class laughing. Mr. V you are truly a teaching legend and you will be sorely missed.

I taught with Cecil for 33 years and will never forget his enthusiasm for teaching and wonderful sense of humor. He was a moral leader for students and a good friend. May he rest in peace.

R.I.P. Mr V. I didn't have him for Gov't, but I did take tennis in my sophomore or junior year. I never really got to play because I was on the "B" team. He was very dedicated to his star players as he should have been. So I got to breeze through that class sitting under the Hornet Hive while he created future "tennis pros". He was a character and a very likeable teacher. He is one of God's angels now. Prayers to his family and friends.

I was always so impressed that Mr. V had taught for as many years as he had; and just kept doing it! He was the most dedicated teacher I've probably ever had the pleasure of working with - he really seemed to care about the kids and our East Central community. Prayers for him and his family and everyone who was touched by him.

I was one of the many students who were lucky to have Mr. V as a teacher (Class of 1987). He also taught my two uncles who graduated in the early 1970's and told me that he remembered them. OYE! Mr.V was one of the most dedicated and professional teachers I have had the pleasure to work with. He shepherded many senior classes through the dangerous wonderful final year of school and onto the graduation stage.

When I reflect on my high school days, he is one of my most memorable and often. Not only did I learn from my class but I learned life's lessons from him as well. He had wit humor but most of all when you looked in his eyes you know he meant what he said and he truly cared about each and everyone of us OYE Mr. Vee. I had Mr. Vee in my Senior year at East Central. (Class of 1975) 
He made me interested in our government and the processes. He started me on the path toward wanting to know more about our history and economic systems. 
I enjoyed his class very much. He had a sense of humor he wasn't afraid to share with us; I respected him very much...

I had him for Eco in high school and will never forget at the end of every Fri the words he would say to get a laugh. I remember most of what I was taught.
