Cecilia (Cissy) Villanueva, 73, died February 25, 2021 with her family by her side. She was born January 5, 1948 in San Antonio to Manuel C. and Janie H. Villanueva.
Cissy graduated from Edison High School in 1966 and obtained her Licensed Vocational Nurse certification in 1967. She was a devoted employee of Christus Santa Rosa Children's Hospital, retiring after 45 years of service. During that time she directed the Respite Station assisting families of children with special needs. Cissy was an active member of the Lutheran Church. Over time, she was affiliated with various congregations, including Our Savior's Advent Lutheran Church, Hope Lutheran Church, and St. John's Lutheran Church..
Cissy loved spending time with family and looked forward to family outings which included trips to the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels, Texas. She spent much of her time cooking and baking for family and friends and enjoyed holiday gatherings, shopping with her sisters and gifting.
Cissy was generous with her time and enjoyed providing for those she loved. She devoted much of her energy as a caregiver and provider to family members. Cissy compassionately provided end of life care for her mother and father. She was a gentle, kind, and compassionate woman. Everyone received her generosity and care, whether it be guidance, praise, or support. Her life's works included service, love, and selflessness. A light always and forever, lighthearted, smiling and warm, the good deeds she blessed this world with a shining example to all.
Cecilia is survived by her sisters, Rebecca Gomez, husband Nieves, Naomi Villanueva-Lederer, Sarah Cooper and brothers, David Villanueva and Samuel Villanueva, wife Belinda, and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Manuel C.Villanueva, mother, Janie H. Villanueva and nephew James Gomez.
In her blessed home where she so often fed, sheltered, and cared for us, with her loving family by her side, Cecilia Villanueva passed on to become one again with everlasting love and peace in heaven. Cissy was and always will be in our hearts and memories. She was truly an angel, devout in her love for all. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives and forever in our hearts.
