Cedrich D. "Yanni" Carrisalez

Cedrych Dionysius “Yanni” Carrisalez, age 19, passed away Wednesday, February 20th, 2013. He was born April 7, 1993. He is preceded in death by his uncle, John Mathew Costa; uncle, Patricio Perez; cousins, Ashley Perez and Nikolas “Nico” Perez and godparents, (his Nouna and Nouno) Helen and John Zouzoulous. He is survived by his loving parents Oscar David and Mary Helen Carrisalez; his sister, Calysta Nicole Carrisalez and his brother Christopher Mathew Carrisalez; his loving grandparents, who Yanni called Yiayia and Papou, John and Dora Costa and Betty and Manuel Carrisalez; godparents, aunt and uncle, Michael and Sylvia Alarcon (Andrew); aunts and uncles, Ms. Sylvia Jane Perez, Kathy Gutierrez, Frances and Sostenes Flores, Hector and Camie Carrisalez (Diego and Dakota), Albert Carrisalez, Yolanda and Phillip Monte (Garrett and Meagan). Also left to cherish his memory are numerous cousins, relatives and friends.

He was a student of Alamo Heights High School and was employed by Papouli’s Greek Restaurant. He always enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was an amazing person that always put everyone else first. His smile could light up any room and his happiness was contagious. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 1:00pm to 9:00pm with the Trisagion at 7:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 10:00am at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 2504 N. St. Mary’s St., San Antonio, TX 78218. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

A trust fund has been set up in Yanni Carrisalez’s name by the San Antonio Fire Dept. at Generations Federal Credit Union.
