Charlene had a beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and crystal-clear blue eyes that lit up a room. She was loving, giving, caring, and always saw the best in people.
She never left home without her jewelry, and her hair, nails and makeup were always perfect. Charlene loved to craft, sew, practice calligraphy, play cards and cook, and left an endless catalogue of hand-written recipes with personal notes attached.
Charlene grew up in Houston and San Antonio, the second of eight children. She was smart as a whip and worked as a bank teller and occasional Mary Kay saleswoman. Above all else, she was a wonderful mom, sister, and Meemaw to two little girls she loved and adored (Falyn and Parker).
She fought for life and never gave up hope, and did so with grace, dignity and courage. She made the best of difficult situations and always followed her heart and would encourage everyone to do the same. Her legacy will live on in the lives she touched.
Charlene is survived by her brothers Buddy Dickey (Carol Quick), Pat Dickey (Janne’a), Dennis Dickey and Billy Dickey, her sisters Donna Moses (Tony) and Darcy Barron (Nick), her sons Brandon Lamb (Maureen) and Robert Lamb, and her granddaughters Falyn and Parker Lamb. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edith, her sister Mary, and sister-in-law Judy.
As she told us every night before we went to sleep, “may Jesus watch over you,” mom. We love you.
A service celebrating Charlene’s life will be held at 10:30am on January 12, 2023, at Covenant Presbyterian Church in San Antonio, Texas. Please contact Brandon Lamb at [email protected] for additional information.
