

A 1929 UT graduate, ardent Longhorn fan, amateur radio operator for more than 80 years and avid golfer, he continued playing golf into his 99th year. In 1921 he participated in the first radio broadcast of a college football game, the UT-A&M Thanksgiving Day contest.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marian, and survived by daughter Edith Clark and husband John Schneider, Sugar Land; son John E. Clark and wife Carolyn, San Antonio; nephew Don E. Gray, San Antonio; grandchildren Marie and Nicole Catrett, Austin; Jessica Catrett, Houston; Karen Cork and husband Adam, New Braunfels; Leslie Sartori and husband Michael, San Antonio; John C. Clark, Kihei, Hawaii; and Charles W. Clark, Austin; and by great-grandchildren Chloe Allen, Houston; Julia Holden, Austin; Reid and Hannah Sartori, San Antonio; and Matthew Sartori, Dyess AFB.
The family is grateful to the staff of Independence Hill Assisted Living, who made the daily routines of life easier for Charles during the last six months of his life, when for the first time his mobility became limited.
A family graveside service will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests those wishing to do so may contribute to the good works of Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Dallas, or the charity of their choice.
