

He was born in St. Louis Missouri to Nellie Ryan Mueller and John J. Mueller. Heinie served in the Marine Corps during World War II. He played professional soccer and minor league baseball and was inducted into the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991.
Heinie worked in the restaurant business in Southern California and Mexico prior to moving to San Antonio in the 1950's. As a long time restaurateur, his local establishments included the Little Rhein Steakhouse, House of Sir John Falstaff, San Jacinto Club, Papas and Knights of Olde. He also owned and operated various concessions at Lackland AFB which included a roller rink, riding stables, barber shop and bowling alley. Heinie was one of the original shareholders and founders of Stop N Go convenience stores which grew from five stores in 1959 to over 1, 100 in the early 1980's.
Heinie was preceded in death by parents, sister, Eleanor; brothers, Cornelius, John, Emmit, Clem, William and Barney.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Patricia Ann Mueller; son, Charles Edward Mueller, Jr. and wife, Ann; daughter, Anna Maria Russell and husband, Mac; grandsons, Zac and Logan Russell; granddaughter, Elizabeth Mueller and two pups "Charlie and Katie".
Heinie will best be remembered for his sense of humor, storytelling and desire to enjoy life every day.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on MCullough.
A private interment will be for immediate family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Animal Defense League or to the charity of your choice.
