

Chuck was born on December 20, 1928 in Brighton, Colorado to Carl and Barbara Wagner (both deceased) and grew up in Toppenish, Washington. In 1947, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force which brought him to San Antonio. On February 28, 1949, he married Gladys Fikac and the two raised four children Charles (deceased), Gregory, Mark, and Christopher.
Chuck was an active member of the San Antonio community having acquired the Donald L. Smith Company in 1977 and was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Alhambras.
He is survived by his beloved wife Gladys; sons Gregory, Mark (Linda) and Chris (Kathleen); granddaughters Christina, Jennifer, Rachel and Sarah; grandsons Nathan and Paul; sisters Barbara Walsh and Charlene (Haskell) Brown; brother John; and beloved nieces and nephews. Chuck was a gentle, patient and loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed, but will always remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
The family will receive friends at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012.
