

She married Carlos Clifton (Jack) Whisenhunt in 1949, and they lived together in San Antonio, Texas, where they opened Charlott’s Antiques in 1966. Avid antique and clock collectors, they owned and operated the store, shipping containers of European antiques, purchasing estates, and repairing clocks, becoming a landmark on Austin Highway. For over thirty years, their youngest daughter, Janet Lynn, worked side-by-side with her parents. The store marked its 50th year in business at the iconic location in 2016 and closed its doors at the end of 2020.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty years, Carlos Clifton (Jack) Whisenhunt, their baby daughter, Barbara Ann Whisenhunt, and great-grandson, Hayes Horner.
She is survived by: Gary Wayne Whisenhunt (Marie), Marion Ellen Whisenhunt Richardson (John Michael, deceased), and Janet Lynn Whisenhunt. She also leaves to cherish her memory Katherine Richardson, Jack Richardson (Sunnie), Alex Whisenhunt (Kristen), Cali Leopold Horner (Justin), Ginny Whisenhunt, James Leopold, Sterling Leopold, and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give their sincere appreciation to the staff of Shavano Park Senior Living and the dedicated doctors, nurses, and support staff at Methodist Hospital Stone Oak.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home chapel at 1701 Austin Highway. Viewing: 11:30 am, Service at 12:15 pm, with Private graveside committal service at Fort Sam Houston.
