Chiquita N. Picardo, a cherished resident of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2024.
Born in Yokohama, Japan, Chiquita's life was a testament to grace, dedication, and love. With over 50 years of experience as a passionate Tai Chi instructor, Chiquita touched countless lives with her teachings, imparting not only the physical aspects of the art but also its philosophical and spiritual depth. Her students remember her as a patient and inspiring teacher who brought calm and balance into their lives.
Chiquita was more than an instructor; she was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenji and Shige Naonaga, and her devoted husband, Bill Picardo.
She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory forward: her son, Patrick Picardo, and his wife, Beth; her grandchildren, Marco Picardo and his wife, Akanksha, and Mason Picardo; and her precious great-granddaughter, Emilia.
Chiquita's legacy of love, strength, and serenity will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
A Committal Service will be held on Thursday, July 25th at 10:30 am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (Shelter #4). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of San Antonio at www.begreatsa.org.
