While attending college in South Korea, she met her late husband and then soldier for the U.S. Army David J. Frith. They dated several years, and upon return from another deployment to Germany, David and Chun were married in Seoul, South Korea on September 28, 1982. They had one child from this union.
David and Chun were deployed stateside to San Antonio, TX at Fort Sam Houston Army base. It was here they planted roots where they both remained until their passing.
Chun had many hobbies, talents, and was best known for her extraordinary cooking. She spent her free time drawing, carving, and cooking for anyone she could! You could often find her enjoying Korean dramas while cooking for family, and spending time with her daughter and grand-children before she passed. Chun was baptized as a Baptist and attended HanMaEum Korean Baptist Church until she fell ill and could no longer attend.
On July 17, 2022, Chun was granted her Angel wings and called home after two years of fighting a long battle with progressive Peripheral Vascular Disease and Dementia. Anyone who knew how strong she was knew she really fought with all the spirit and fire she was raised to have. She passed in peace & comfort at Christopher House Hospice in Austin, TX surrounded by loved ones.
Chun is survived by her only child, daughter Christine Sifuentes; son-in law, John Sifuentes; grand-children, John A. Sifuentes, Lorenza Sifuentes, Gia Sifuentes; two brothers, Hun Kang (Spouse: Young Hee Park), Ki Hyoung Kang (Spouse: In Seon Choi); alongside two nieces, two nephews, cousins, and friends.
A service will be held on August 15, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home in San Antonio, TX with burial service to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. We will end with a small reception to celebrate the life of Chun Frith back at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com for the Frith family.
