Clara Kopacki

Clara "Belle" Kopacki, age 86 of San Antonio TX, passed away at home on November 27, 2010. Belle was born on February 7, 1924 in Koenton AL to Walter "Doc" and Ada Carpenter, the fourth of seven children. She was preceeded in death by her husband of 63 years, Chester, in September of 2009. Also preceeding her are her parents, sisters Rossie Willard, Estelle "Vadie" Busch and Mertie Long. She is survived by her daughters Teresa Kopacki Strizich, Vicki Shawcross (Ian) and Wanda Mares (Alfred); grandsons Kerry Shawcross, Michael Mares, David Mares (Patricia) and Ken Kopacki; great grandchildren Itzabelle Mares (unborn), David Mares, Jr. and Michael Mares, Jr. Belle is also survived by her sisters Vernelle Cravey of Avon Park FL, Audrey Godwin of Banks AL, brother, Lloyd Carpenter (Elizabeth) of Mobile AL, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She leaves behind cats Avery, Katy, Tiger and Opie. Since the loss of her husband she enjoyed taking numerous road trips to visit small towns throughout South Texas with her daughters. Belle will be remembered for her generosity and love for her family as well as her fondness for her neighbors, old and new. Services will be held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 8:30am on Friday December 3, 2010. "WENT LOOKING FOR HIM"........Mom
