It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clara Jean Radlet Luther, who went to be with God on December 17, 2024. Jean was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and friend to everyone she met. She was born on July 26, 1933, to Wilbur Robert Smith and Pearl Denver Smith in Barnes, Wisconsin. Growing up in a cabin in the woods of northern Wisconsin, Jean was one of seven children.
Jean was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Paul J. Radlet, whom she met while attending the University of Wisconsin in Madison. They were married for 36 years and had four children: Susan Radlet (Wilson), Paul Radlet Jr., William (Bill) Radlet (1960-2022), and Daniel Radlet. Jean is also survived by her grandchildren: Augusta Wilson (Lowe), Mia Kang, Sheena Kang, Wade Radlet, Brynn Radlet, Nicholas Radlet, Nathan Radlet, and Emma Radlet.
Jean was fortunate to find love again and remarried in 1996 to Max Luther. They enjoyed many happy years together until Max's passing in 2020. She is also survived by Max's children, Bob and Sherrill Luther, and their spouses, Clint and Gary.
Jean was a caring and loving person who always ensured that everyone around her had what they needed before she could rest. She treasured her friendships and participated in various social clubs throughout her life. One of her favorite pastimes was watching the birds visit the many feeders she maintained at her homes in Corpus and Utopia.
Jean was loved and cherished by her family and will be greatly missed by all.
