Claude Lee Shannon, CMSgt. (Retired) U.S.A.F., age 90, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on February 9, 1924 in Harrisburg, Arkansas to Lushan & Josie Shannon. Claude is preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, Dorothy E. Shannon, 2nd wife, Rita S. Shannon and grandson, Travis Lamb.
He is survived by his children, Lyman L. Shannon & wife, Nancy, Lynda M. Shannon & husband, James Vance, Christopher D. Lamb & wife, Patti and Matthew S. Lamb & wife, Elizabeth; grandchildren, Brian Shannon, Raeann Hidalgo, Shannon Lamb, Jeffrey Lamb and Kayla Lamb; and great-grandson, Logan Hidalgo.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 with military honors at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
