

Clifford was born Monday, February 5, 1945, in Paintsville, Kentucky, being the second born of ten to the late Gladys & Rudolph Oppenheimer.
In 1963, Clifford met the love of his life and life-long companion, Shirley in Albers Supermarket in Columbus, Ohio. After a short two years of dating, Clifford married Shirley in 1965 marking the beginning of a loving and prosperous marriage of 57 wonderful years.
In April 1968, Clifford heard his Call of Duty, and enlisted into the United States Air Force in the wake of the Vietnam war. Clifford fearlessly served in one tour to Vietnam where he tirelessly worked on C-9 Skytrains.
Once home, it is at Scott Air Force Base where he and wife Shirley, welcomed their two children together: Christopher and Terri. Clifford faithfully worked for the United States Air Force for 15 years 8 months, before he was medically discharged at Altus Air Force Base due to complications of exposure to Agent Orange while serving his tour in Vietnam, achieving the rank of Technical Sergeant (TSgt).
Clifford was regarded as a man of the community, from volunteering as a baseball coach, Boy Scout Committee leader, and Cub Master during his time at Altus Air Force Base to simply sharing a kind smile with a stranger or offering a kind word to those around him, Clifford was always a man that made you feel comfortable the minute he met you.
Throughout Cliffords life he partook in several exhilarating hobbies, notably, traveling the entire world with his beloved Shirley, spending countless weekends at the lake with his family, building multiple successful businesses, spending time with his dog High-Dollar Oliver, living it up in Cabo San Lucas, and last but certainly not leastdrinking margaritas.
Clifford is preceded in death by his parents, Gladys & Rudolph; brother, William; sister, Dean; brothers-in-law, Steven and Casey; sister-in-law, Naomi; and beloved fur baby, Katy-Ann.
Clifford is survived by his life-long companion and love of his life, Shirley; son, Christopher; daughter, Terri; son-in-law, David; grandchildren, Noah and Daniel; brothers, Albert, Thomas, and Robert; sisters, Thelma, Susan, Jan, and Cynthia; sisters-in-law, Dee and Joy; brother-in-law, Chip; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Clifford always kept a smile on his face and cracked jokes to keep everyone elses spirits elevated even in the darkest of times. Clifford will be remembered as a light in this world, and for the unconditional love he held for his family and for those around him.
A service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022, at 10:30 am, at Community Bible Church, 2477 N Loop 1604 E, San Antonio, TX 78232. A reception will follow the service. A private burial will follow.
