

Concepcion S. Vasquez Sr., age 83, went to be with our Lord on March 7, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on December 6, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas, to Federico and Juanita Vasquez. Concepcion was born and spent his life in the home on Fitch Street where he peacefully passed in his sleep, surrounded by the comfort of the place he loved most.
Concepcion attended school in the Harlandale Independent School District. Although he completed only a middle school education, he went on to become a successful business owner for more than 30 years and lived a life full of hard work, dedication, and blessings. In his youth, he followed in the footsteps of his older brothers and spent much of his youth life boxing, developing the toughness and determination that would carry him throughout his life.
He began his professional career as a printer at the historic Munguia Printers on San Antonio’s West Side. Later, he proudly opened and operated his own business, the Pecan Grove Drive Inn, which he ran for many years.
Concepcion shared over 60 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Marie Dolores Vasquez. He is survived by his children:, Connie Vasquez, Deborah Ann Vasquez (Deceased) Sylvia Ann Chapa, and Concepcion “Fonzie” Vasquez Jr.
He is also survived by his sister, Gloria Cantu, and his brother, Federico “Fred” Vasquez, along with many grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and extended family members who loved him dearly.
Concepcion was a lifelong fan of boxing and enjoyed traveling to Louisiana and Eagle Pass to try his luck gambling. He also loved eating and traveling to go eat BBQ. Above all else, he loved his children and grandchildren deeply and was always ready to lend a helping hand whenever anyone needed it.
He will be remembered for his strength, generosity, and devotion to his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237 on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.
The Funeral Procession will depart on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Service at Bread of Life Christian Center, 317 W Mitchell St, San Antonio, TX 78204.
Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd., San Antonio, TX 78237.
