Connie Frances Carsten

Connie Frances Carsten, age 79, of San Antonio, TX passed away Friday, October 13, 2023. She is survived by her husband and soulmate, Bill, her children, Kim (spouse Tim) and Kyle (spouse Jennifer), her brother, Tom, all her wonderful grandchildren, Lincoln, Will, Kat and Mia, great grandchild, Mayson and all her nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her father, AJ Joiner, and her mother Ona Joiner.

Connie was born February 17th, 1944, in Amarillo, TX and grew up in San Antonio where she attended Highlands High School. After high school, at 18 years old, she was in the banking industry for over 37 years starting as a teller and finishing her career at 55 years old as a Federal Funds officer and private banker. She lived in San Antonio most of her life, but also lived in Nashville, TN, and Acworth GA. She loved living in the south, experiencing all the seasons, and bird watching. She was infatuated with all things owls and loved to show everyone her owl collection throughout her home. Connie was such an enthusiastic, passionate, and beautiful person. She loved life and loved all things art. She painted countless masterpieces with both oil and watercolor, but her true passion was watercolor. She was gifted and skilled and that afforded her the opportunity to teach art classes as well. She was so much more than an artist; she could create anything and everything and it brought out her great passion. She could sew and create costumes and she loved to design and inspire with her craftwork. She was generous and always offered to help others fix their clothes or decorate a costume for a holiday or school play. Anyone that truly knew her knew she had such a big heart. She loved people, no one more than her husband, but she had many friends and she so enjoyed talking, laughing, and playing games with them. Her smile and laugh were infectious, and you just felt loved anytime you were in her presence. She will be deeply missed.

Her celebration of life will be held at Sunset North Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, with the family receiving guests starting at 10:00 am with service beginning at 11:00 am. A reception will be held directly after in the Hospitality Suite.
