Cy was truly "one of a kind" and everyone who was fortunate enough to know him and Patsy will will miss both of them terribly. My family and I were lucky enough to know the Kendalls and grow up with this remarkable family. There were so many good times and some of the best years of my life as boy-I will treasure my memories of them all forever. Love John and Liz

I am so sorry for your loss. I have been so lucky to know Cy through my Mom and Dad Faye & Ray Gumm for many years. He was a magnificent gentleman who comforted me after my heart surgery even after losing Patsy the same week. I will always appreciate the funny jokes and e-mails he sent my way. I will miss him greatly and am so sorry I was unable to attend his services. I am assisting a friend who had hip surgery and needs constant surpervision.

I loved to sit and talk to Cy because he always had an opinion about everything and was never afraid to voice it. It was perfectly acceptable to disagree but you better be able to back up your opinion. He was always good for advice and was always supportive. My mother and daddy loved both Cy and Patsy; my sister, neice, nephew and I grew up hearing all the laughter between the four of them. Man o man could he tell a story. AOL will never be the same! He was always very proud of all his children and grandchildren. May he enjoy eternal peace.

We were deeply saddened to learn of Cy's passing. Both Patsy and he were wonderful neighbors to us when they lived on Meadow Ridge in Kerrville. We enjoyed our brief visit with them in Oklahoma. Cy's emails were always informative and enjoyable. He was a delightful person and will be missed. Our sincere sympathy to all the family.

Uncle Cy was so full of laughter and phenomenal wisdom. He knew what he was talking about but was so elegant in his presentation. He did not mince words or sugar coat anything. If you didn't agree he was gracious in listening to your opinion. I have enjoyed our conversations over the past several years. I will miss that so much. There will be a huge empty spot in so many lives now. My heart and love goes out to my cousins and their children at this time. Love you Uncle Cy.

I remember Cy & Patsy from when I was very young, and the memories I've carried of them through the years are vivid even today. They were my step-brother's Jamie Stevens grandparents, but were mine as well, and I cherish the impact they made upon me while growing up. Cy was a cantankerous old coot with a good heart, sharp mind, and a lot of love to give. Rest in peace, Cy, and may God welcome you home.

Cy, my friend, I'll miss your Emails and your occasional phone calls. You and Patsy were very special to Oran and Me and I cherish the great times we used to have together. We love ya! Katie J.

Knowing Cy for 42 years, he was always direct and to the point. As his son-in-law and then his former son-in-law, Cy didn't always agree with everything I did and he told me so, but he was always there for me. Not too many former father-in-laws would have attended the former son-in-law's wedding -- but Cy and Patsy did! In 1977, he had a heart attack the latter part of the year and was told to take it easy; however, I was being sworn in as a naturalized citizen in December, 1977, and both he and Patsy were there. He told me nothing would have kept him away. We've always kept in touch by phone, through cards and thanks to Georgia by email, which will all be missed.
