

Cynthia “Cindy” Rose Palmer, age 70, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on September 24, 1953 in Flushing, New York, to parents, Muriel Kahanowitch and S. Edward Palmer. She was preceded in death by, her parents and beloved sister Beverly Joyce Palmer. Cynthia is survived by her wife of twenty-five years, Connie McCammon; brother, Alan Palmer and his wife, Gavrielle Levine. She will be missed by her beloved fur babies Howie and Maggie.
Cindy’s B.A. is from State University of New York at Stonybrook and her M.A. from Adelphi University. She taught social studies grades 9-12 at Long Beach High School, Long Beach, New York for more than 30 years and was most noted for the popularity of her honors and Advanced Placement classes. Her professional career also included three years as Dean of Discipline at Long Beach High School.While living in Schertz, Texas she was a member of the Historical Society Committee, Citizens on Patrol, and an Elections Volunteer. While living in Hill Country Retreat in San Antonio, Texas she was part of the Shalom Circle, Mahjong Group, Democratic Club and the League of Women Voters. Her interests included genealogy, civic engagement and supporting the San Antonio Food Bank, and local animal shelters.
