He was born July 7, 1945, in Akron, Ohio, to Edward B. and Dorothy Evans.
Dale faithfully served his country until 1969 in the United States Army. In 2005, he retired as a locomotive engineer with the Union Pacific Railroad.
Dale's greatest passion was flying. Since his training in the Army, flying was an active part of his life.
After a long courageous battle with cancer, Dale is now at peace. He will be remembered by friends and family for his sense of humor and no-nonsense approach to life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward. Dale is survived by his son, Chris Evans; mother, Dorothy Evans; sister, Debra Kardys and husband, Kenneth; niece, Heather Swihart; former spouse and mother of his son, Sue Fortner.
