Dalia Akhbari passed away on December 16, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 70. Born on December 31, 1954, in Monclova, Coahuila, Mexico, Dalia lived a life defined by love—freely given, deeply felt, endlessly patient.
Family was the most important thing to Dalia. She shared a deep and devoted love to her husband, with whom she traveled in her later years, creating memories during some of the happiest times of her life. Her three children were her proudest accomplishment. And although she loved her children, her heart belonged to her grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she loved them fiercely.
A natural listener and confidant, Dalia was a sounding board for many and a mother-figure to more than just her own children. She had a remarkable way of staying connected—through calls, texts, emails, or Facebook messages—and she never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or important date. To know Dalia was to feel seen, loved, and accepted.
She is, and will always be, deeply missed.
Dalia was preceded in death by her parents, Celia and Edward Hays Stites. She is survived by her husband, Moe Akhbari; children, José (Stacy) Ramirez, Naomi Akhbari, and Debbie Akhbari (Justin Maher); grandchildren, Bonita Tran, Hayes Ramirez, Celia Bustamante, Bowen Ramirez, Gabriela Bustamante, and Hugo Akhbari-Maher; and her brothers, Edward, Robert, and David Stites, and Salvador Robles.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Porter Loring Mortuary West followed by a Memorial service at 1:00 p.m.
