He proudly served in the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. Calvert.
Daniel was awarded the Korean Service Medal and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
He was a member of the American Legion #0460 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars #8134 in Castroville, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Abel and Juanita Flores; a brother, Robert; and his sister, Gloria F. Segura. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Amelia B.; daughter, Edna Marie Flores; son, Daniel B. Flores, Jr. and wife, Jo Ann C.; and his only granddaughter, Krystle Antoinette Flores; brother, Richard Able Flores and wife, Esperanza; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved Sir Humphrey, "King of all Dogs".
The family wishes to extend special Thanks to his loving daughter-in-law, J.O., who was his care provider; Ms. Lois A. Matt, Dr. Fadi Abouzahr and the staff of MedCare Associates of Castroville, TX; to the physicians, nurses and staff of St. Luke's Baptist Hospital, Care Home Health and Vitas Hospice for all the care, support and friendship given during his time of illness.
He will be greatly missed.
