Daniel Floyd Frye III, aged 73, passed away on August 29, 2024, in San Antonio, TX. Born on March 22, 1951, in San Antonio, throughout his life he served as a primary source for a good laugh, quick wit and deep willingness to offer to help in whatever capacity necessary to everyone in his life.
Daniel was proud member of the Theodore Roosevelt High School class of 1969. From there he attended his beloved Texas Tech University and later earned his MBA from Incarnate Word. He built a distinguished career working on the finance side of several notable oil companies such as Sigmor, Tetco, Diamond Shamrock, and Valero. He completed his career in finance at Apple Computers, retiring in 2013. His professional journey was marked by creating a healthy work / life balance by spending time away from the office on company softball and charity golf tournament teams.
Dan spent lots of time on the golf course, though often frustrated with his swing, took every opportunity to hit the links with Andy and finish the day with a crisp Diet Coke. He spent his retirement years traveling with friends and loved ones. 7 Mile Beach in the Caymans was his happy place and made that trip as often as he could. If he wasn't golfing or traveling he spent hours dining at his favorite restaurants, extending the invitation to any and every one within earshot. He gleaned immense joy from being "Danny Hospitality" and sharing the things he loved with the people he loved.
Daniel was the beloved father of Andrew and Kristin, and father-in-law to Jacob Henson. He was a proud grandfather to Katie, Samuel, and Erin Henson. He is survived by his brother Steven "Rocky" Frye, niece Kylie Frye, and his longtime girlfriend Judy Cude. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aylene & Daniel Floyd Frye Jr.
Daniel's life was a testament to the love he shared and the lives he touched. He will be remembered for his warm heart, generous spirit, and the enduring bonds he formed with those around him. His legacy will continue to live on through his family and all who knew him.
