Daniel I. Mendoza, born December 5, 1971, in Reynosa, Mexico, passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 54. Daniel was a hard working man who felt most at home in the outdoors. Whether he was hunting, Barbecuing for friends and family, or sharing stories around a campfire, that was where he found peace. The outdoors wasn’t just a pastime for him—it was part of who he was. It was where he built friendships, shared stories, and created memories that those who knew him will always carry with them. Daniel was the kind of man you could depend on. When someone needed help, he didn’t hesitate—he showed up. He believed in taking care of his family and standing by the people he cared about. His strength, reliability, and willingness to lend a hand made him someone others respected and trusted. Above all, Daniel loved his family. His greatest pride was his daughter and his grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them—teaching them about life and the outdoors, making them laugh, and passing down the kind of memories and lessons that last a lifetime. To them, he was not only a grandfather, but someone they looked up to.
Daniel is preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Ibarra.
He is survived by his father, Jesus Mendoza; his beloved wife of 28 years, Anna Mendoza; his children, Michelle, Susan, and Amanda; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his siblings, Rose Mendoza, Jesse Mendoza, and Victoria Mendoza; as well as two nieces and three nephews.
Visitation will be held on March 18, 2026 from 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, 78211, with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 PM.
