Daniel Valdez Ornelas

Daniel V. Ornelas, loving husband, father, and grandfather went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2011 at the age of 71. He was born on July 4, 1939 in San Angelo, TX to Eulalio and Maria Ornelas. Mr. Ornelas served honorably in the United States Army Airbourne Division and continued a 30-year civil service career at Kelly AFB. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Julia Garcia, Hortencia McDaniels, Thelma Aguirre, and Lucy Ornelas; brother, Robert Ornelas; and stepmother, Lucinda Dominquez. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Lina Ornelas; children, Daniel Ornelas Jr. and Deborah Ornelas Rios; grandchildren, Janelle, Justine, Juan III, Jasmine, and Jocelyn; sister, Janie Zuniga; and brothers, Arturo and Luis Ornelas. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Westover Hills Assembly of God Church Children’s Department, 9340 Westover Hills Blvd, San Antonio TX 78251 A visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2011 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home and a Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Westover Hills Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors
