She was born January 6, 1944, in Senegal, Africa, to Robert and Genevieve Pravaz.
In 1946, Danielle accompanied her parents to the island of Guadeloupe, French West Indies where her father and grandfather operated a concrete construction company.
In 1961, her beloved father passed away and Danielle and her mother returned to Paris to live. When her mother remarried after two years in Paris, Danielle moved to New York, and quickly was promoted to buyer for ladies fashions for Bergdorf-Goodman, a large department store.
In 1974, while visiting a cousin in San Antonio, she met and later married Charles Lyerly, who passed away in 1990.
In 2002, Danielle and William Phelps were married.
Having studied painting in Paris, Danielle quickly became engrossed in painting and over the years has produced many beautiful paintings for her own enjoyment as well as for her friends.
Danielle is survived by her mother, Genevieve Lemenage of Mountlouis-Sur-loire, France; husband, William Phelps; four step-daughters; numerous family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Danielle has requested any and all donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice in her honor.
