Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved. There are never any right words to express how deeply sad I am for the pain your family is enduring at this difficult time.

It was with great sadness when I received the information about David's passing. David and I worked together when I was with the Texas Employment Commission Tax Division. I was just out-of-college in my first job when I met David and we became collegues but more important great friends. A lot of the work relationships and requirements in teh Tax office, I learned directly from David. He always took the time to share with me the best approaches to use in the very diffcult job of assessing taxes to businesses. I learned how to restrain myself when various company leaders who did not want to comply with the law personally attacked you over your findings. But David was always there to guided me in the proper response and actually demonstated the best approach to maintain good customer service and professionalism. I know that I would have been successful in this job if it was not for David. When we had lunch together, David would always talk me into a short walk downtown which he said would settle your stomach, and he was right; it always made the afternoon much more pleasant. And David was so enthusiastic about his VW Beetle that I bought one myself. And it was David that taught me how to set the valves on the car that gave it more power and lasted longer. David was so proud of his family and even though I did not meet them, I felt that I knew them because David shared so much of their accomplishments. And I knew about the ranch when he first bought it. He would tell me about the weekends spend at the ranch clearing the land but also enjoying the quiet surroundings of country life. Even though I lost contact with David, I never forgot him because of the guidance, support and encourgement that he provided to me in my early work career. His words are still with me today and this gives me great courage and confidence in my daily life. David, you will be missed but never forgotten. Condolences to David's family and friends. Fred

David is my mother,Amalia, first cousin.My husband Guadalupe Juan, and I would enjoy visiting with him before Saturday evening Mass at Mission San Jose.When the time of Mass and his return home from his ranch coincided, he would attend Mass at MSJ. I will be forever grateful to David for sharing with my mother the information on their ancestors. My 10 year old grandson, Jude David Silva,very recently used that information for a school project. May he rest in peace.

I pray that the Lord Jesus support, bless and protect Cousin David's surviving family and his generations that follow. I am certain that David had a rich and wonderful life leaving many memories to recall. My memory is when he advised me, a young 19 year old, about enlisting into the Armed Services. It set me on a positive and fulfilling path that differed from my peers. Thank you David.
