To The Memory of David M. Girdwood Dear Family, It is with a very sad heart that I am here writing this Memory Tribute to David, my dear beloved brother-in-law. David was always very loving, kind, and sweet to me, and up to the day that he passed away David always made me feel that I was a very special member of the family after Robert and I divorced. I love David and I will miss him very much. In addition to David's kind and loving ways, I will forever remember David's smiling face and his contagious laughter, as well as the huge family get-togethers that David and Betty would have at their home to celebrate either a family event, holiday, or having an impromptu party with those who just happened to be at their house visiting for the day! And the home of David and Betty Girdwood is always warmed by the laughter of many family and friends. These are the times that I remember the most, however, I will especially remember the Christmases - the love, the laughter, the fun, the gifts that reached the ceilings, and oh my goodness, the food! David made sure that every one had plenty to eat before they left his house. David was always very thoughtful, as well as generous in so many ways. David loved his family and his family loves him. David will be greatly missed by all those who knew him, and to know David is to love David. Oh of course, David could be a bear sometimes as we all are, however, to me, David will always be a big and kind teddy bear! I know that there will be moments in the upcoming days, weeks, and months when your loss will seem too great to endure, however, just know and remember that God is with you always. God will help you to get through the difficult times ahead that you may face as you suffer the deep pain and loneliness and numerous other emotions that will visit you at unexpected times during the day and night as you grieve the passing of your beloved; emotions that will affect you physically as well as emotionally. It is during times such, as these when God shows His children how much He loves us. Remember to lean on God?s strength during these times and not your own strength. And so dear family, I will close for now, however, know that you are in my daily thoughts and prayers, as you always are.

Debbie, we are so sorry to hear about your father. I am also sorry we didn't make the funeral. We have you and your family in our hearts and prayers.

I have sat here with my hands poised above the keyboard of my computer trying to decide what to type. Our families have so many memories. Seems no matter what... the Harlow's and Girdwood's were there for each other. I am so thankful that our families have been such a large part of each other's lives. From my youngest memories of swimming in your pool on the southside, to the morning of your surgery last Saturday when we talked we always made each other laugh. I loved knowing that I was someone special in your eyes. Thanks! Love DonnaJean
