

He grew up in The Woodlands, Texas and earned his education from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics (magna cum laude) and The University of Oklahoma with a Master of Arts in Economics (magna cum laude). He was an Eagle Scout and received the God and Country medal. David was God fearing. He loved Jesus and his family and lived his life as a faithful servant and great mentor with a legacy of treating everyone with respect and dignity.
Following graduation from Baylor University, David embarked on a career in civil service with the United States Air Force and the Department of Defense. His more than 25 years of service began as a Palace Acquire intern followed by various leadership positions at the flight, Squadron, Major Command and Headquarters Air Force level. His assignments took him to Hickam Air Force Base (AFB), HI; Bolling AFB, DC; Headquarters Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), HI; Misawa Air Base, Japan; Kadena Air Base Okinawa, Japan; Randolph AFB, TX; Keesler AFB, MS; Headquarters US Air Forces Europe & Air Forces Africa (USAFE-AFAFRICA) Germany; Air Force Services Center, TX and Washington, DC. David will be remembered for his incredible intellect and sincere drive to make lives better for Airmen and their families. His impactful contributions were recognized by the Air Force Outstanding Career Civilian Service Award, the Air Force Meritorious Civilian Service Award with two oak leaf clusters and an Air Force Civilian Achievement Award.
David is survived by his wife, Mimi; son, JD; parents, Joan and Norman Jenkins; sister and brother-in-law, Julie and John Brewer; parents-in-law, Conchita and Alvaro Almeda; brother-in-law, Cesar Almeda; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Nette and Arnel Mampusti and Judy Alcala; nephews, nieces, and grand nephews; as well as numerous extended family members and a lifetime of friends.
