

Dean Sellars Miller, 91, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on June 24, 1927 in Healdton, Oklahoma to parents William H. Miller and Lucy Fern Sellars Miller. Dean served in the Merchant Marines and the United States Navy in the Korean War. He married Nancy Ann Parnell in 1954, and they moved to San Antonio, Texas. Having been trained as a radio technician in the Navy, he started his civilian career as a communications technician, ultimately founding Bexar Communications, Inc., a communications company serving business, military, fire, police, and medical emergency services with two-way radio services. He was an avid model railroad hobbyist and an amateur radio operator with call sign, W5PLD. He was a member of Crestholme Presbyterian Church, and a lifetime member of the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Ann Miller. He is survived by loving companion, Irene A. Thomas; sons, Russell Miller, Keith Miller and wife Christy; step-son, Cameron Mauzé and grandchildren, Alison, Emily, Isabel Miller, and Amanda and Dallan Johns.
There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Crestholme Presbyterian Church, 1602 Goliad Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78223.
