Delia Solis Garcia loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2012 with her family by her side. She will be remembered for her strength and zest for life. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking, watching novelas, and trips to the casino.
Born August 30, 1927, in Harlingen, Texas. She loved taking care of her children and grandchildren. Her adventures took her to many exciting places such as, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Paris, England, Panama, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico. She lived in Kingsville, TX, Wichita, KS, and San Antonio, TX.
She is preceded in death by her husband Israel G. Garcia. She is survived by her loving children, Roel and Consuelo Quintanilla, LTC (retired) Israel and Sylvia Garcia, MAJ (retired)Agustin and Diana De La Rosa, Agustin and Ofelia Munoz, LTC (retired) Martin and Lourdes Garcia, Brad and Carmen Lemon, 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
