Della Maxine Talley

Maxine was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. A longtime San Antonian, she was an active member of Travis Park United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, where Maxine was a devout member of the Dr. Melbert Sunday School Class, which she served in leadership roles that included president and secretary.

A retired Civil Service employee with 35 years of service, Maxine was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and a member of the Daughters of the Nile.

After retirement, she served her community as a volunteer in many capacities. Undeterred by age, Maxine remained a generous, delightful, happy person for nearly a century and she was beloved by many.

Talley was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Talley; her parents; four sisters and four brothers.

She is survived by her stepson, Tom Talley and his wife, Linda of San Antonio, numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was especially grateful for the love and care given to her by nieces, Teresa Schmidt (David), and Sharon Mills (Bill).
