Diane Gonzalez Sonora

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Diane Sonora, who entered eternal rest on February 2, 2026, at the age of 71. Diane was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, a city she loved deeply and called home her entire life.

She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Juan Sonora, who preceded her in death on January 21, 2023, and her parents, Julian and Florence Gonzalez.

Diane was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, whose life was centered around love, family, and connection. She was the proud mother of Vanessa Mendez (husband Matthew Mendez) and Marissa Sonora, and the adoring grandmother of Ava, Ezra, Luca, and Noa Mendez, who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her cherished grandpup, Finn Sonora, who brought her so much joy.

She is survived by her loving daughters, her grandchildren, her sisters Barbara Perez and Julianna Velez (husband Alex Velez), and many extended family members and friends who were blessed to know her.

Diane had a beautiful soul and a creative spirit. She expressed her heart through art and travel, finding peace and joy in creativity, and she shared that beauty with those around her. She was known for her warmth, kindness, and the way she made people feel loved, welcomed, and safe in her presence.

Her legacy lives on through the family she raised, the love she gave, and the countless lives she touched. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit, love, and memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
