

Dimitrios Georgios Tsandoula, age 54, passed on Sunday, March 19, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. Dimitrios “Dimi” was born to Georgio and Assimo “Mina” (Tsakanika) Tsandoula in Athens, Greece on June 30, 1968. As a young adult Dimi moved to the United States to pursue his passion for serving others. Dimi was the founder of Mina and Dimi’s Greek house restaurant, est. 1993 with his mother, Mina. He brought his beloved culture to life here in San Antonio through those recipes from Greece. Dimi also brought his infectious spirit and merriment to all that he encountered. Dimi appreciated the beauty in an everyday item that others may have overlooked. He did not take the world for granted and truly enjoyed it whether it be through music, a new hobby or helping anyone in need. Dimi saw the journey of life for what it could be and focused on making it more memorable. It is certain that if you find anyone that knew Dimi they have a story that epitomizes what he brought to this world.
Dimi is survived by his daughter, Natasha Tsandoula; son, Caleb Tsandoula; Alicia Tsandoula; sister, Joanna Sierra; grandson, Lucian Tsandoula; and nephew, Thomas Sierra. Dimi is preceded in death by his father, Georgio Tsandoula, his mother, Assimo “Mina” Tsandoula, and his step-father, Walter Sidler.
Father Thomas Newlin will officiate. Pallbearers will be Paul Amaya III, Jeremiah Martinez, John Goulkie, Scott Allen, Ralph Rodriguez, Alexander Clinton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alicia Tsandoula, Mohamed Ali and Gregory Scott. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Sofia Greek Orthodox Church.
