Dolores Zapata Garza entered into eternal rest on January 29, 2021. Born in San Antonio, TX on May 17, 1949, she was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Emma Lee Zapata. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Amador V. Garza and three children; Carlos (Debra) Garza, Annette (Paul) Sanchez, and Denise Garza, and her grandchildren; Catherine, Caroline and Carlos T. Garza and Adam Sanchez. She is also survived by her brother, David V. Zapata.
Dolores went to St. Martin’s Hall School and Providence High School. She was a dedicated mother, wife, daughter,sister and loyal friend. She retired after 20 plus years from Northside ISD. In retirement, she enjoyed crafting and sewing, playing bingo and the slot machines in Vegas, and cat sitting Denise’s cat, Jalapeno.

Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas, 78238 on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a memorial rosary at 7:00 P.M. A Memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Monday, March 29, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 13715 Riggs Road, Helotes, Texas. A private family interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
