Dolores "Lola" Martinez

Dolores “Lola” Martinez, age 87, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2021 in San Antonio, TX. She was born on March 23, 1934 to Leno & Rossa Mendez. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Dolores married Santos Martinez on February 21, 1953. They moved to Milwaukee, WI in 1959, then to Lombard, IL in 1982 and finally, moved back to San Antonio, TX in 1990.

Besides being a mother of five, Dolores was a devoted foster mother for about 10 years. She fostered lot of children. The first of her kids, were sisters, Pamela and Camille, who to this day are still part of our family, and our sisters. We also adopted Michael, who now lives in California.

Dolores loved playing Bingo, with her sister, kids, granddaughters and especially her friends.

Mrs. Martinez was preceded in death by her husband Santos.

She is survived by her children, Esther, Rafael, Patricia, Kent, Pamela, Camille and Michael. Her son Santos passed away in April 2021. She had 17 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

Dolores had 3 sisters, Concha, Lupe, Vicky, and a brother Alfonso. Lupe and Alfonso are the only surviving family.

The visitation will be at 10 am, Monday, November 29, 2021, with the Rosary and Prayer service to follow at 12 noon. There will be catered reception to follow at the Sunset Lone Star Hall.
