Dolores enjoyed the gift of family and was a true matriarch. She was very sociable, had a fondness for cooking and baking, and always put others first. In her early years, Dolores was a waitress at Karam's, the iconic Mexican restaurant in San Antonio, and she often expressed that this time in her life brought her much joy. Later and throughout her life, Dolores played many important roles that made an impact on many people both inside and outside of her own family. She was a teacher's assistant, a health caregiver who assisted the elderly and a PTA volunteer for multiple years at her children's schools. After her husband passed, she joined the Guadalupanas at St. Ann's Catholic Church in San Antonio where she continued to pay it forward and serve God as well as the community at her local church. Dolores always made it a point to help and make an impact on other people’s lives.
The family sends a special note of thanks to Father Jesse Martinez from Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Buda, Tx for helping us prepare Dolores’s soul spiritually to begin the beautiful journey to heaven. We would also like to thank Kathleen Fossum, her Hospice Nurse from Encompass, for being there physically and emotionally during this very difficult time. Thank you for bringing Dolores and the family peace and comfort. Your compassion is appreciated.
The loss of Dolores is hard to bear and felt by many, but we take comfort in knowing that she is now free of pain and suffering as she enjoys the grace and beauty of God's glorious kingdom. We will remember her always for the love, caring and genuine compassion she showed for others.
