Dominiq Amir Castillo Porterfield

Dominiq was born to Lucas Alexander Castillo and Amy Elizabeth Porterfield Lagasse on November 22, 1996, in Warrenton, VA. He was a 2014 graduate of the Ocean Lakes High School Math & Science Academy, in Virginia Beach. He was attending his junior year at The University of Texas at San Antonio working towards Business Management Degree.

Dominiq is survived by his parents, Lucas and Amy, step-father Joshua Lagasse, great grandmother Aida Celeste Jerez, great grandfather Curtis H. Porterfield, grandparents Lucas E. Castillo, Aida Josefina Pimentel, Dale and Eileen Porterfield, Faith and Vincent Marra, uncles Juan Carlos Castillo, Michael Porterfield, Benjamin Porterfield, David Porterfield, Benjamin Lagasse, Daniel Lagasse, and many aunts, cousins, and friends.

Dominiq loved the Lord and was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call son, grandson, and friend. He was baptized on May 29, 2016 and was a member of the Norfolk VA Christadelphian Chapel. He enjoyed baseball, hockey, sand soccer, basketball, ultimate frisbee, frisbee golf, and flag football. He was a member of the UTSA Velox Club Ultimate Frisbee.

Dominiq was a loving son, great friend, and lived life to the fullest. His smile was contagious and he lived by the quote by Steve Maraboli, "It only takes a split second to smile and forget, yet to someone that needed it, it can last a lifetime".

Services in San Antonio will be held September 8, 2016, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm with the funeral service starting immediately at 4:00 pm.

Services in Virginia will be held September 10, 2016 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 8464 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, VA. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to Noon with the funeral service starting immediately at Noon. Interment will be on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 1:00 pm in Bright View Cemetery, Warrenton, Virginia.
